Second Beach - Olympic National Park

Second Beach - Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is a 922,000-acre park featuring snow-covered mountains, lush rain forests & dramatic Pacific coastline. This picture is from Second Beach. Just south of the village of La Push there is three Olympic Coast beaches: First, Second, and Third Beaches. All are sandy, broad and hemmed in by dramatic bluffs and headlands. They're all close to each other but you can't hike from one to the next because headlands block the way. First Beach is the easiest to get to and so can be crowded. Third Beach requires a 1.2-mile hike down a forested trail. Second Beach is a decent hike and just long enough to discourage crowds. Second beach has some of the nicer sea stacks.
