Assassination Vacation Written by: Sarah Vowell

Another good book on history delivered in an entertaining style. The material is extremely interesting having studied Garfield and Lincoln’s assassination. This book covers the assassinations of Lincoln, Garfield, and McKinley in almost comedic style of narration with Vowell interjecting her historical pilgrimages around the US to visit historical sites related to the assassinations. Her side kick for many of the trips is her 3 year old nephew, a boat trip to the Dry Tortuga’s National Park to visit the prison of Samuel Mudd. Other player’s stories like John Wilkes Booth's brother's career as a Shakespearean actor, Robert Todd Lincoln luck to be close by to all three assassinations, obsessions with graveyards and much more. 5 of 5 and a repeat reader.

Hey, any book is a good book when there are details on National Parks. J
